Missions

Iowa 2010

Our local Missions Coordinator Bro. Carl Teel connected us with Garrett Trunk a NAMB church planter in Centerville Iowa who has a passion for seeing people come to know the Lord and then disciple them through Bible study. We were able to put together teams consisting of people from Madison, Meridian, Liberty Grove and Malesus, and First Bemis Baptist Churches. The 1st team did flyer distribution, and the second team led a baseball clinic where we taught the children baseball fundamentals and shared with them and their families about a relationship with Jesus Christ. Together the five local churches from South Jackson have formed a partnership with Garrett to where we hope to make trips each year helping strengthen the work that is being done in Centerville and the surrounding area.

Russia 2010

We had the privilege of carrying a team to Petropavlovsk, a city on the Kamchatka peninsula of Russia. We worked with two International Mission Board (IMB) families who serve our Lord on this peninsula. We primarily did street evangelism, or course we used translators to communicate with the people. Each day we would go out into different areas of the city and casually stop people on the street, tell them that we were from America, and get permission to ask them a few questions. Some people we encountered did not want to participate, while others were very open to talking with us. Through a series of questions, we would lead to the “greatest” question of all - asking if they had a relationship with Jesus Christ. It was a great experience serving our Lord among the Russian people.
